Ingredients Breakdown
Agnus Castus 4X (Chaste Tree)

Vitex agnus-castus, or "chaste tree," is a shrub native to the Mediterranean and Asia.

Vitex agnus-castus fruit and seed contain chemicals that seem to affect many hormones involved in the female reproductive cycle.

People use vitex agnus-castus for conditions related to the menstrual cycle such as breast pain and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). It is also used for bone fractures, infertility, menopause symptoms, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support most of these uses.

Used for the treatment of mastodynia and symptoms related to the female cycle. Has been shown to elucidate the dopimanergic inhibition of prolactin synthesis and/or release.

The mechanism of the main effect of the plants in the treatment of some female diseases seems to be their effects on body hormones. Studies have demonstrated that some important plant components, including flavonoids, directly affect the pituitary gland, especially the part of the gland that secretes luteinizing hormone, which increases the progesterone level and modify disorders caused by decreases in hormone levels. Previous studies reported that Vitex can decrease prolactin levels in rats. This study also mentioned that Vitex can inhibit prolactin release by binding to dopamine receptors.

Vitex contains phytoestrogens, which are weak estrogen agonists; therefore, it can be conceptualized that in low-estrogen environments, similar to that in as in menopausal women, this plant can exert more radical estrogenic effects

Rates of complication, including mild upset stomach, rash, and itching, are low; complications are seen in approximately 2% of users.

  • Breast pain (mastalgia). Taking vitex agnus-castus by mouth seems to relieve breast pain during the menstrual cycle.
  • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Taking vitex agnus-castus by mouth decreases some symptoms of PMS, especially breast pain or tenderness, moodiness, anxiety, anger, and headache.
  • Primary studies have demonstrated its effectiveness in decreasing menopausal complications: Despite the lack of clinical trials designed to study the effects of this plant on menopause-related symptoms, pharmacological evidence denoting its dopaminergic activity, closeness to opioid receptors, and ability to increase melatonin secretion support the effectiveness of Vitex for reducing menopausal symptoms.
  • Menopause: shown to ease anxiety, depression, somatic complications, hot flashes, sexual dysfunctions (decreases in the mean sores for anxiety and vasomotor and total dysfunction to 3.2 and 3 times lower in the treatment group, respectively)
  • Reproductive problems, infertility, and hyperprolactinemia
Withania 6x

Ashwagandha, or Withania somnifera, is a flowering shrub that grows in Asia and some parts of Africa. Other names for it include Indian ginseng and winter cherry. It is an important herb in Ayurveda, which is a traditional form of medicine that originates in India. According to Indian Herbal System (Ayurveda), Ashwagandha is considered one of the most important herbs and the best adaptogenic. It contains constituents like cuseohygrine, anahygrine, tropine, and anaferine, glycosides, withenolide with starches and amino acid. Withanolide consists of steroidal

molecules which is said to fight inflammation.

Withania acts as an adaptogen, which is a substance that helps the body adapt to various kinds of stress. It is also a nootropic, which is a term for supplements and herbs that claim to boost brain performance.

Withania Somnifera Mother Tincture is an effective remedy for the treatment of issues like anxiety, depression, Arthritis and rheumatic pains. It also helps to build long-term stamina and energy reserves. Withania can boost immunity and brain function by improving memory and concentration. It is effective in reducing inflammation and shows anti tumor activity and immunosuppressive properties.

In studies of hot flashes during menopause/ perimenopause: In comparison with the placebo, ashwagandha supplementation was associated with a statistically significant reduction in total Menopause Rating Scale score (p < 0.0001), reflected by significant reductions in the psychological (p = 0.0003), somato-vegetative (p = 0.0152), and urogenital (p < 0.0001) domains. Ashwagandha intake demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in total Menopause specific quality of life (MENQoL) scores (p < 0.0001) and was also associated with a statistically significant increase in serum estradiol (p < 0.0001) and a significant reduction in serum FSH (p < 0.0001) and serum LH (p < 0.05) compared with the placebo. There was no significant difference between the group differences in the serum testosterone level.

  • Eases anxiety and depression
  • Menopausal symptoms: anxiety, depression, pain, brain function, quality of life, hot flashes

  • Reduces inflammation, oxidative stress and pain
  • Shown to balance hormone levels, specifically for menopause and PMS: estradiol, FSH, LH, cortisol, thyroxine
  • Memory, cognition and concentration
  • Improves reproductive system and health: Has been shown to decrease infertility, enhance semen quality in males (due to the enhanced enzymatic activity in seminal plasma and decreasing oxidative stress), improves LH and FSH balance (leading to folliculogenesis and increased gonadal weight),
  • Can improve the immune system
  • Traditionally used for: treating cold and coughs, ulcers, emaciation, diabetes, conjunctivitis, epilepsy, insomnia, senile dementia, leprosy, Parkinson’s disease, nervous disorders, rheumatism, arthritis, intestinal infections, bronchitis, asthma, impotence and a suppressant in HIV/AIDS patients.

Cimicifuga 3X/6X/12x (Black cohosh)

Cimicifuga racemosa (CR or Black Cohosh) is a plant/herb which has been traditionally utilised and extensively used by women. It is important in complementary and alternative therapies for the improvement of various disorders related to women, such as menopausal syndrome, mammary cancer, and osteoporosis. It aims to systematically highlight the bioactive constituents, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic potentials, quality control processes, chromatographic techniques, and possible mechanisms of action of clinically effective phytomedicine for women’s health.

Therapeutic uses include pain associated with menstruation, relief of premenstrual symptoms, and relief of symptoms associated with menopause and muscle and joint pain associated with the rheumatoid condition. It is included in the category of herbal remedies or dietary supplements.

Menopause mechanisms of action:

Many findings have found that flavonoids, such as the isoflavone formononetin, can be isolated from black cohosh. It is believed that the pharmacological action of the plant was due to the presence of formononetine which helps to alleviate menopausal distress in adult women by its estrogenic activity. The presence of formononetine from the methanolic extract of rhizomes and roots of CR was confirmed by using TLC fluorometry.

In one study in 80 menopausal women who were experiencing hot flashes, those who supplemented with 20 mg of black cohosh daily for 8 weeks reported significantly fewer and less severe hot flashes than before they started the supplement

  • Menopause: mitigates menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, vertigo, nervousness, mood swings, anxiety, depression, weight, and vaginal dryness associated with postmenopausal females
  • PMS symptoms and regulating the menstrual cycle
  • Fertility
  • Shown to reduce symptoms of PCOS, fibroids
  • Anxiety and depression (particularly in menopausal women)
  • Improves sleep duration and quality (particularly in menopausal women)
  • Weight loss/ managemen: Particularly in menopausal women as their estrogen levels naturally decrease- black cohosh may exhibit estrogenic effects, it may have a small beneficial effect on weight management in menopausal women .
